The Engineering Consulting Office for Utilities (ECOU) is a leading consultancy company in the economic and social area with regard to the regional and urban planning, the preparation of studies and designs, the development of special-purpose facility projects, environmental projects and projects in all other areas. Our main activities include the survey of the urban, economic and social area, the study and research of the economic and social area, the preparation of project-related feasibility studies, architectural and engineering designs, maps, specifications and similar documents and the supervision of the execution of projects.

PART II ­  DUTIES
 
POST CONTEXT:  The Engineering Consulting Office for Utilities is seeking to fill the position of Architect. The incumbent will report directly to the General Manager of the Engineering Consulting Office for Utilities and the Team Leader of the Architecture Design Department. The principal duties and responsibilities of the incumbent will be the following: 
 
A.    PRINCIPAL DUTIES:
§       developing concept, schematic and detailed designs for residential, cultural and urban projects, 
§       discussing the objectives and requirements of a project,  
§       consulting with both local and international fellow architects about design;
§       preparing and presenting design proposals;
§       providing advice on the practicality of projects;
§       specifying the nature and quality of materials required,  
§       preparing tender applications and presentations,  
§       project managing, including progress monitoring and reporting,  
 
B.    ADDITIONAL DUTIES:
·        Other duties and tasks as may be assigned.
 
 
 
PART III ­ QUALIFICATIONS
 
A.    ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE:
PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE:
 
·        Academic qualifications in architecture or urban planning, 
·        A minimum of five years of extensive experience in internationally renowned offices,  
·        Excellent conceptual, graphic and design skills,
·        Computer aided design (AutoCAD and Adobe Suite) skills,
·        Good experience in the early stages of design development i.e. the concept and schematic design,
 
B.    EDUCATION:
BSc or MSc in Architecture or Urban Planning (RIBA Standards).
 
English Language Knowledge: Full Professional Level.
Good knowledge of other language(s), especially Arabic and French, other than the mandatory one, would be an advantage. 
 
STANDARD ADP KNOWLEDGE: Proficient in Microsoft Windows, Microsoft Office, Microsoft Outlook, Adobe Acrobat, Microsoft Internet Explorer, Microsoft Project, CAD Software (AutoCAD), Adobe Suite.  
 
PERSONAL ATTRIBUTES: The ideal candidate will be detail-oriented, flexible, trustworthy and discreet. He/she will have good organizational, communication and analytical skills and will be willing to improve his/her knowledge and skills. A team player who is able to multitask and work under time constraints. 
 
CONTRIBUTION TO THE OBJECTIVE: The successful candidate will be expected to perform his/her duties and tasks to a high standard ensuring effective and reliable services and thus contributing to the productivity and successful operation of the Architecture Design Department.
WORK ENVIRONMENT: Fast-paced, multinational and multicultural environment. 
 
EMPLOYMENT BENEFITS: One-year employment contract with a possibility of extension. The probationary period is one month. In addition to the salary commensurate with the qualifications and experience, travel, accommodation and food expenses will also be covered by the ECOU.
