NEW MUNCH MUSEUM IN OSLO - Restricted Plan and Design Competition

HAV Eiendom AS invites teams to submit requests for qualification for The New Munch Museum, which will house the work of the artist and will be built in the Björvika Bay, in Oslo, Norway. The program includes 22000m2 for the new Museum, a new building for the Stenersen Collection, and 25000m2 of additional program within neighboring properties. The total building program will be around 50000m2.
Competitors should deliver a master plan for the area considering how the museum programmatic logistics can be integrated within the city context; the ambition for the Munch Museum building is that it should deliver a strong conceptual and architectural solution, together with a clear and functional organization. This invitation is open to international teams, and the official competition language is Scandinavian and English. The competition phase starts October 1st 2008 and ends January 10th 2009.
This Plan and Concept Design Competition complies with the Norwegian Public Procurement Act and all the competition information is officially announced at Doffin/TED.
